The moiré or moiré effect is a contrast effect that changes and causes the deformation of an object, this is independent of shadow effects.

A similar effect can be obtained by superimposing two sails with regular meshes, two fences one behind the other, or even two deck railings.

The moiré is a drawing which is composed of dark and light lines which results from the superposition of two meshes.

This is a phenomenon of spatial interference between the two meshes.

This phenomenon can be used to analyze the deformation of an object.

This phenomenon makes it possible to explain the dithering phenomenon that we have when we digitize an image composed of points.
