Single Shot Detector (SSD) or Single Shot MultiBox Detector is an object detection algorithm based on convolutional neural networks.
The early layers of neurons are strong at finding small, simple objects while the deep layers are good at identifying larger or more complex objects in the image.
SSD thus uses this particularity of the different layers of a CNN to identify all the objects present in an image.
