Georgi Feodossievitch Voronoï (in Russian: Георгий Феодосьевич Вороной) (April 28, 1868 – November 20, 1908) was a mathematician known for his Voronoi diagram which allows us to divide a surface into convex polygons.
In mathematics, a Voronoi diagram also called Voronoi decomposition or Voronoi partition is a particular decomposition of a metric space determined by the distances to a discrete set of objects in space, in general a discrete set of points.
How to draw a Veronoi diagram?
Just do the following:
- Connect each seed or point to its closest neighbours, forming a network of triangles (Delaunay)
- Draw all the perpendicular bisectors of the segments obtained, a perpendicular bisector is the line perpendicular to a segment and passing through its midpoint.
- Connect all the intersections of the perpendicular bisectors
